Payments
Payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store your card or bank details. All payment data is handled by Stripe under their own security standards.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information only where necessary — with service providers to complete bookings, with Stripe for payments, with Firebase for data storage, or where required by law.

By using AskNear, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
About AskNear
AskNear is a marketplace that connects customers with local service providers. We facilitate bookings and payments but do not provide services ourselves.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use AskNear.
User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and truthful information
- You are responsible for keeping your account secure
- You must not use the platform for illegal or harmful activity
Payments & Fees
Payments are processed through Stripe and subject to their terms. A £0.80 booking fee applies per booking, and a 4.5% withdrawal fee applies when service providers withdraw earnings.
Platform Role
AskNear acts solely as an intermediary. We are not responsible for the quality of services, conduct of users, or disputes between customers and service providers.
Prohibited Use
- You must not defraud, scam, or mislead other users
- You must not provide false information
- You must not interfere with the platform's operation
- You must not harass or abuse other users
Account Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or cause harm to others.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

💰 Refund Policy

Booking Fee
The £0.80 booking fee is non-refundable except in cases of verified platform error.
Service Payments
Payments are processed through Stripe and subject to their terms. Once a job is confirmed as completed, payment is considered final.
When a Refund May Be Considered
- The service was not delivered at all
- The service provider cancelled without rearranging
- A valid dispute is raised within 7 days of job completion
When Refunds Are Not Guaranteed
- The job was completed and confirmed by the customer
- The dispute is raised more than 7 days after completion
- The issue is minor and does not significantly affect the service
- The customer changes their mind after a service has been carried out
Refund Process
Requests must be submitted through the platform. We will review and communicate a decision. Approved refunds are processed through the original payment method via Stripe.

⚖️ Dispute Policy

AskNear provides a dispute resolution process to help resolve issues between customers and service providers fairly.
Raising a Dispute
- Either party may raise a dispute through the app
- Disputes must be raised within 7 days of job completion
- Disputes raised outside this window may not be reviewed
What We Review
- Chat messages between the parties
- Booking details and timestamps
- Any evidence submitted by either party
Possible Outcomes
- Payment released to the service provider
- Full or partial refund issued to the customer
- Action taken against accounts in breach of platform rules
Automatic Completion
If a customer does not confirm or dispute a completed job within a reasonable period, AskNear may automatically confirm the job and release payment.
Final Decisions
AskNear's decisions on disputes are final. We act as a neutral third party. Our decisions do not constitute legal rulings.
Fair Use
Abuse of the dispute system may result in account suspension.
